Mental Health Awareness Month
As a teenager, I used to have this fear: not ever being good enough. But I’ve redefined “good”. “Good” can mean whatever I want. 😏 And “good” is only related to myself. I can become “better” only referred to the person I was yesterday. Not to other people.
Am I making sense?😅
It has helped me A LOT understanding that I AM my competition. And that there is no ideal we all agree on. While others found their perfect lives in having a family and kids, I could not be happier than now, sharing random ideas with my little, wonderful community of souls online.💙 It’s freeing not putting pressure on yourself and investing your time and energy into becoming the best version of yourself.✨
However, one of the emotions that has got in my way plenty of times is anxiety. And I know that this is something that many people deal with. So here I am ready to share some new things I’ve learned.😊
Before I start, you should know that everything I’ll share in this article is what I personally learned from an Udemy course:
Here are the latest anxiety tips and tricks I’ve learned:
(It’s the second time I share this idea. If you’ve read my other anxiety article, you may skip this part. 😁I just thought it was important to put it here.) Basically, your body posture has a strong influence on your feelings. If you stretch your arms up and open up your chest, breathing deeply, there is no way you could have any negative feelings. Find what works for your body. Notice your posture in the moments you feel confident and on cloud nine. Then channel it when you’re feeling low.💪 Anxiety is expressed physically in many ways. It could be frowning, or bending over or clenching your fists. Whatever it is, stop doing it as soon as you identify it. Turn your current physiology into positive/confident posing.😎
In her latest video, my favourite British vlogger & blogger, Zoella also mentioned this. Whenever in trouble, she used to ask herself: What would princess Kate do?
Finding an alter ego – either a person you admire or a better, future version of yourself can make a HUGE difference. You can take yourself out of the unpleasant situation by thinking on how to act – inspired by someone wiser.🌟
The way you speak to yourself – the words you call yourself repeatedly, the sentences you play inside your mind turn into beliefs. Want to change your opinion on yourself? Change your thoughts. 😉 In better words, take control over your thoughts. When nervous, try not to freak out thinking OMG, I’m gonna die. Why am I like this? Please send help.😬
Okay, you’re in a bad mental place. It’s good that you notice it, but it’s already time to leave it. Go to lovely emotional realms. 😊 Find the key words: Calmness. Confidence. Relaxation. That’s where you need to get.
THIS IS HELPFUL: Think of a colour that you associate with the emotion you need. For me, light blue is a symbol of relaxation. If you close your eyes, breathe slowly & controlled, while imagining your chosen color filling out your body, you’ll notice a rapid change in the way you feel.
That’s all I have for now. If you enjoyed this, then show this article some love!😍
